We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to get involved in the 14th European Geoparks Conference. If you have interest in local culture, heritage, and geology or just want to learn more about UNESCO Global Geoparks, this is a good opportunity to participate and contribute in an event of international importance, helping us give the warmest of welcomes to all the visitors.

Although English language skills (oral and written) are highly important, you might have other particular skills that would be very helpful for us, such as being a qualified guide, being able to drive, or have other foreign languages skills. People with local knowledge who can fulfil the role of guides and hosts would be very helpful!

People volunteering will be needed to help in welcoming, registration and providing local information during the conference, which takes place in Ponta Delgada city, S. Miguel Island, Azores. Volunteers will also escort the visitors in the Mid-conference Field Trip to sites of geological, cultural and historical interest at S. Miguel Island.

Volunteering is a great way to discover more about our territory, meet new people, enjoy the conference atmosphere as well as earning experience. The conference organizers are sure to offer you a rewarding and fascinating experience, together with some symbolic, but significant awards.

Register here, join us and help to make this event another success for the Azores!

We'll be happy to answer any questions you may have, so feel free to contact us!
